Micah Chapman is a proud Chattanooga native who has dedicated his life to faith, family, and community. He and Courtney are lifelong residents of Chattanooga, raising their daughters, Miciah and Michal, who inspire his dedication to building a stronger future for children, families, and the community they call home. Together, they are members of Word Empowerment Church, where Micah serves as Executive Pastor. In that role, he helps lead outreach and family-focused initiatives that strengthen connections across the city. He also serves as President of Congress for the Greater Pilgrim Joy District Association, supporting programs that promote education, leadership, and community service.

A graduate of Brainerd High School, Micah went on to earn his Bachelor of Divinity from Christian Leaders College and later his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Western Governors University. Professionally, Micah serves as Director of Events and Outreach for The Enterprise Center, a nonprofit that helps close the digital divide by connecting residents to technology, training, and opportunity. His work focuses on building partnerships and hosting events that bring people together to learn, collaborate, and grow.

SERVING HIS COMMUNITY

Micah’s leadership extends far beyond his job. He serves on several boards and committees that help families thrive and ensure everyone has access to the resources they need. That includes the Head Start Governing Board, where he supports early childhood education across Hamilton County, and the City of Chattanooga’s Office of Family Empowerment Board, where he previously served as Chair. As President of the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga Young Professionals, Micah leads initiatives that promote civic engagement, economic opportunity, and giving back to the community. He also serves on the Young Professionals of Chattanooga Advisory Board through the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce, helping prepare the next generation of local leaders.

Over the years, Micah has volunteered his time with many organizations, working with groups like the Washington Hills Community Advisory Committee, The Brave Effect, Civic Tennessee, Prison Fellowship, Grassroots Law Project, Rhyme N Chatt, the Chattanooga Hip-Hop Summit, and Chattanooga Hip-Hop Week. He also mentors local students through the Urban League’s Project Ready program and Tennessee Achieves, helping them prepare for college and future careers. Micah is a member of the Leadership Chattanooga Alumni Association, Leadership Tennessee NEXT, and The Equity Alliance’s LiberTEA Collective. He believes leadership is about service, not titles, about working together, being transparent, and making sure families and schools have the support they need to thrive.

Above all, Micah remains committed to the people and families of District 5. His years of service have given him a deep understanding of both the challenges and the strengths within our neighborhoods. He continues to lead with compassion, collaboration, and a heart for the community he proudly calls home.
