WHY MICAH'S RUNNING

I’m running for Hamilton County School Board, District 5, because I believe every child deserves a strong start, a supportive school experience, and a clear path beyond graduation. Strong schools do more than educate students, they strengthen families and entire communities.

My decision to run was shaped by my experience serving on the Head Start Governing Board. In those meetings, I noticed a disconnect between early childhood development and kindergarten readiness. It became clear to me that if we want students to succeed long term, we must do a better job aligning support from early learning through K to 12. That realization pushed me to step forward and be part of the solution.

My approach to leadership is grounded in listening, collaboration, and accountability. I believe school board leadership is not about control, but about setting direction, supporting educators, and ensuring families are informed and heard. Our district is filled with passionate teachers, engaged families, and students with unlimited potential. My goal is to build on that foundation through clear communication, consistent support, and thoughtful decision making.

This campaign is about people, not politics. It is about making sure classrooms have what they need to succeed, teachers feel respected and supported, and families are active partners in their schools. As a lifelong resident, a parent, and a community advocate, I have seen how coming together can change outcomes for the better.

District 5 deserves leadership that listens and leads with purpose. I am running to strengthen the connection between our schools and our communities and to help create a future where every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
